Metabo HPT nails not reach the top – How to Fix
A fairly common issue I see with Metabo nailers is having Metabo HPT nails not reach the top… the nails are constantly misfiring (Misfire is the inability of the nails to travel through the magazine).

Clean the magazine
Perhaps start by thoroughly cleaning the nailer’s magazine with a brake cleaner such as this and a rag.
That’s a basic one to do because gunk could be the reason.
A brake cleaner removes most of the dirt and also evaporates pretty quickly.
Oil the slider
Grab a can of High Performance Silicone Lubricant/Spray and spray up and down its magazine. Having the magazine oiled really helps nails get pushed all the way. I should say that any dry lube will help.
Remove any blockages inside magazine
By the way confirm that no paper has become stuck in the magazine
Check the firing mechanism too for anything blocking it.
Change the nails
It could be that the nails you are shooting having a thicker than standard paper on them causing the misfire…they are too thick…
Try swapping to , tac wise nails by Toolstation.
These work smoothly often. Otherwise, try only manufacturer recommended nails.
Brand matters a lot.
Adjust angle of the magazine
See if you could slightly adjust angle (back then forward) of the magazine.
You have to remove the bolt as well as undo the bottom to do that.
See how it goes.
In short, always check your angle if you encounter the fault.

Mainly, it could be the fasteners are just a tad too thick or the gun’s magazine is dirty or damaged.
